A temple which was 1300 years old has been discovered in Swat district of Pakistan. A group of archaeologists comprising Italian and Pakistani archaeologists excavated the temple. The archaeologists believed that it could be Lord Vishnu Temple and it might have been built during the rule of Hindu Shahi kings. The Hindu Shahis ruled part of today’s Pakistan in between 815 to 1026 CE (Common era) They also found traces of cantonment and watchtowers near the temple site. A water tank was also found near the site of the newly discovered temple site, which the experts believe was being used by the Hindus for bathing before worshipping Lord Vishnu.
