Two miscreants set fire to the century-old chariot in Antarvedi temple in East Godavari district. The miscreants were arrested and the investigation is in progress.  Endowment Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Velampalli Srinivas ordered a comprehensive investigation in this case. The Hindu voluntary organizations came to the temple in huge numbers and gave slogans against the heinous act. The century-old chariot which was made up of teak was insured and temple authorities said that the insured amount would be used for the new chariot. However, according to the Hindu organizations, this is the third incident in the state, which shows clear intolerance against Hindus.
