Many fatal accidents occurred in the history of mankind. The flight which was discovered in 1900 by the right brothers. However, later many accidents proved to be fatal.
How many accidents occurred to date?
Between 2015 to 2019, 69 fatal accidents occurred and the highest accidents occurred in the USA. But the death rate is low here. Whereas in third world countries, fewer accidents occurred but resulted in a high death rate. In the USA, 15 flight accidents occurred. Accidents are many but fortunately, the death rate is low due to technological advancement to save the lives of people there.
Why the death rate is high in third world countries?
The death rate is high because the accidents are major in third-world countries, like Indonesia, Malesia, India, Ethiopia, etc. Except for Ethiopia, India, and South-East Asian countries are developing but, some flights are pretty old, that is why the accidents have been happening. Moreover, the flights they travel are at very high altitude.
The reasons for the accidents!
Defects in aircraft can be caused by a design flaw, manufacturer flaw, or wear and tear from use. Although inspections are performed on the airplane before and after flights, accidents still result from faulty equipment and malfunctioning components.
From mechanics and ground crew to flight attendants and air traffic controllers, these professionals all play an important role in the maintenance and safe operation of the aircraft. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) looks at the training each person has received, the attention to detail that was provided before the flight took off, the communication that exists before air traffic control, the ground crew, and the pilot to determine if human error contributed to the cause of the accident.
Mid-air collisions are less common than other types of aviation accidents because the FAA uses the most up-to-date technology for its air traffic control system, which monitors airliners in the United States. Also, airlines are required to have TCAS II collision-avoidance systems, which detect potential collisions with other transponder-equipped aircraft and advise pilots to climb or dive in response. When these devices malfunction or are ignored, accidents can occur.
Pilots are responsible for the safe transportation of their passengers. At times, rarely, pilots fail to comply with proper procedures in the operation of an aircraft.
Unpredictable weather, such as shear gusts of winds, freezing ice storms, thunderstorms and lightning, and more, can affect both small and large airplanes. Before airplanes can fly in freezing weather, they are de-iced, and all airplanes are required to have forward-looking radar wind-shear detectors onboard.
The Flight crash in Indonesia claimed 62 lives including cabin crew. The reason behind this as per the reports could be the engine as the flight is 28 years old one. There could be a technical problem.
In recent time a few accidents happened in Malasia, Indonesia, Ethiopia and India, which caused the death of several people in hundreds together.
Right now the investigation is on and the wrecks of the flight were taken by the Indonesian government which were floating in The Indian Ocean.
