As per the latest update, India will receive the share of 80 million vaccines from the US as unused vaccines through the UN-backed COVAX global vaccine sharing programme that President Joe Biden has announced, according to a senior State Department official. On June 2nd The US president Joe Biden announced that 75% of the first tranche of 2.5 crore doses will be allotted to the UN-backed COVAX global vaccine sharing programme, to countries in South and South-East Asia and Africa. 75% of 2.5 crores is nearly 1.9 crores will be sent to different countries. As a share, India will get 80 million vaccines (8 Crore vaccines) will be sent to India.
