We have celebrated constitution day recently on 26th November. Why this day is celebrated and how is it so important to India. Let us see a few astonishing facts and reasons

1.      Constitution day is also known as National Law Day.

2.      From 2015 as per the gazette we have started celebrating the constitution day. PM Narendra Modi declared this day as constitution day or National Law day.

3.      26 November was chosen to spread the importance of the constitution and to spread thoughts and ideas of Ambedkar.

4.      Why is it celebrated on this day only? On 26 November 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted the Constitution of India, and it came into effect on 26 January 1950.

5.      And it is not a holiday. We have adopted to commemorate Great Ambedkar, the father of the constitution.

6.      To impart respect on the parliament, the UGC and Education Ministry has been conducting the mock Parliaments

7.      The Ministry of External Affairs directed all overseas Indian schools to celebrate 26 November as Constitution Day and directed embassies to translate the constitution into the local language of that nation and distribute it to various academies, libraries and faculties of Indology.

8.      Many people may ask what is so special about the Indian constitution. Indian Constitution soul is to protect the innocent and favour the suppressed. Equality is its backbone. It is one of the biggest constitutions in the world.

9.      Strange fact: The first book on the constitution was starting with Lord Rama’s picture, not as a religious person or god, but to remember the greatest Indian heritage and culture.

10.   The committee has studied many country’s constitutions like England, Ireland, USA etc. thoroughly and prepared the constitution.

11.   Another astonishing fact is, India was not called a secular country till Former PM of India,  Smt. Indira Gandhi’s rule. With the Forty-second Amendment of the Constitution of India enacted in 1976, The preamble to the Constitution asserted that India is a secular nation. However, the Supreme Court of India in S. R. Union of India established the fact that India was secular since the formation of the republic.
