Indian Parliament has passed three controversial bills through voice vote. The Farmers’ produce trade and commerce (Promotion and facilitation) Bill, 2020 and the Farmers (Empowerment and protection) agreement of price assurance and Farm Service Bill 2020 and the Parliament has already passed the Essential Commodities (amendment) bill. According to the Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, the reforms will accelerate agriculture growth through private sector investment which may give employment also. Minister also added that the bill would not override Agriculture Produce Marketing Committee Acts of the states. The bills would promote the barrier-free market of intra and interstate and global. The government opined that this would be a historic step.
