Cricket is called a gentlemen’s game. But, according to Darren Samy, R Aswin, and many versatile and veteran cricketers, the racism is there and intolerance is clear.
The Australian supporters’ atrocious comments:
In the recent Test match in Sydney, the Australian supporters passed racist comments on Bumrah and Md Siraj. According to R Aswin, this is not new. The Australian supporters have been doing this for a long time.
Is cricket a gentleman’s game?
When we watch such incidents, we get doubt if cricket is a gentleman’s game. When Australia plays, and when the opposite team becomes, a winning side, they start sledging and so called civilized society take it to the next level by passing the racist comments.
After racist comments by the crowd, the Australian team did not play a gentleman’s game, it started playing the foul play. The captain of the Australian team, Tim Paine said “I can’t wait to get you to the Gabba, Ash, I’ll tell you what, woohoo,” ahead of an over of spinner Nathan Lyon. The bowler from the other end started targeting Aswin with the balls to hurt Aswin and to take his wicket. Of course, the reply was befittingly given by Ravichandran Aswin. Ashwin replied, “Just like we want to get you to India. That will be your last series.” After that, Tim did not stop there. He continued “Maybe. Are you a selector here as well?” Paine replied, adding, “At least my teammates like me, d**khead. I’ve got a lot more Indian friends than you do. “Even your teammates think you’re a goose. Don’t they? Every one of them.” Aswin refused to bat until Tim stopped the comments. He said to Paine, “Tell me when you’re done” “I’ll talk all day, mate. Wait until you get to the Gabba, pal,” Paine said. Later, when Lyon enquired why there was a hold-up in play, Ashwin said, “It’s your guy, man. Not me.”
Then Ball-tampering now marks made by batsman tampering. However, intolerant Steve Smith made tampering. This man is being called as a tampering star by the Indian Cricket lover. Steve Smith on the other hand shadow batted and removed the batsmen’s guard marks made by Rishab Panth during a break.
The intolerance when the opposite cricket team is winning is not new to Australi. As per a few international batsmen, even Glen Mc Grath also passed the comments like that.
The Bigotry of Australian News Papers!!
The Australian News Paper, still attacking the Indian Cricket Team and they filled their paper, when there was Monkey Gate controversy between Harbajan and Symonds, they highlighted Harbhajan Singh.
Is Cricket a racist game?
When we look at cricket, it was started by the British, who were highly recognized as racists. When it comes to Australia, most of the Australians, are European descendants of English.
This could be a winning technique to emotionally make excited and make the opposite team to commit mistakes while playing.
