Many people are raising the question if the NCERT is rightly giving education or not. Because of a few mistakes may be done as a gesture of appeasement but the appeasement should not be done in education by spreading the false information.
In a recent application to RTI, the NCERT gave an answer that they had no sources to tell for such question. The question was this:
In the 7th class textbook of CBSE, it is said that Aurangzeb protected the Hindu temple. When an activist sought the sources of such History, in the RTI, the answer was that they had no information about that.
When we observe the real history, Aurangzeb was one of the cruel rulers of India and he was an intolerant ruler. He killed many non-believers of Islam and destroyed many temples in India. He was ruthless. But why NCERT is publishing the wrong information is unknown to date. Many people take the NCERT textbooks as the authenticated information for the preparation of competitive exams and school children obviously feel that, whatever is given in the textbook is right. So, NCERT should not go with just assumptions or appeasements!
Is the NCERT going with the appeasement? It is unknown to date why the NCERT is releasing the textbooks with non-accurate history. Is it appeasing one community? Everyone in India respects all the communities and religions and if there was a cruel king like “Jai Chand”, it is printed in the textbook.
The Kuthub Minar:
The NCERT 7th class textbooks are printed that, the Kuthub Minar was constructed by Kutubuddin Iraq and Iltushmish. But as per the Archaeological Survey of India, it was not true. The foreign invaders Kutubuddin Ibaq and Iltushmish constructed their prayer house on the walls of several temples. This was a historical fact as per the Archaeological Survey of India.
The NCERT should be careful while printing any educational information in its textbook.
Why ignoring the debunking Aryan Invasion theory:
Many scientists have debunked the Aryan Invasion Theory with the Astronomical proofs but, no textbook is mentioned about debunking the Aryan Invasion theory. The children have been learning the same Aryan Invasion theory from ages.
History students should learn both the arguments of Aryan Invasion and debunking Aryan Invasion theory, then only the students get complete knowledge of History and proper analyzing opportunity.
NCERT should not ignore them. NCERT does not have other agenda except providing impartial history, it could be a mistake, but it is high time, the government became stringent about historical facts.
