MS Dhoni, Mr Cool… There is no introduction needed to him…He is the only captain who won the ICC One day world cup, T20 World cup and ICC championship which is being conducted by ICC. This is the tip of iceberg of a successful man.
Every successful person has a similar story!! Actually not….He is the person with consistency composure and learning attitude from failure, what we call positive thinking. We have the similarly talented people around but a few become successful and the rest stops their journey of success at a point.
Control over emotions:
The first quality of MS Dhoni is his Emotional intelligence. Losing control over emotion is easy but the consequences may make us alone or they may leave us opportunity less. Let’s take an example of the other talented player, Ambati Rayudu. Who lost control over his emotion during the World Cup. By losing control over emotion, he passed comments using the phrase “ordered [three-dimensional] glasses” to watch the Cricket World Cup 2019, which became very famous in social media, which resulted in ignoring him for that series. He was with a higher average than the other players in a foreign land. By losing the emotion, he lost the place.
On the other hand, in the life of MS Dhoni, he was rejected in the under 19 world cup, though he performed very well, his name was not on the list. Then he realised that his performance was not up to the mark. Though his friends and his parents were not happy and lost emotional balance, he did not lose his control over emotion. He was the same with the composure, patience and he continued to work hard without losing an iota of patience. He worked hard and performed very well. Again he was not selected in the Dhulip trophy. Due to his consistent performance finally, he got selected in the ODI team of India. He played for India A team.
Wait with patience, till you get an opportunity:
He has selected into India A squad because there was a vacuum of a wicketkeeper. In early 2000s many cricketers were taken for the wicketkeeper position like Dinesh Karthik, Parthiv Patel etc. Even Dravid also played for that position. All of them were some or the other way not compatible with the position of wicket-keeper. Finally, the team management thought to keep Dhoni as a trial and error method. He got the opportunity to play for India A team in a series with Bangladesh. His performance was not so good but, to fill the vacuum of wicket-keeper, he was continued in a series with Pakistan. He played well. After that, he played in Visakhapatnam, where he scored well and it was his major breakthrough.
His blitzkrieg performance brought him the chance to become the captain of the 2007 world cup. In the world cup, his decisions were controversial but at the end of the game, all the senior commentators and veteran cricket players appreciated him. He did not stop any more. He brought the world cup 2007 after more than two decades. Later he brought ICC world cup as well.
Perfect execution of work:
He is the perfect executor of work. He assesses the people who could work in a particular position. Work distribution should be done according to the person and his or her mastery.
He is one of the best team players, who only wish to have a better team. He even got into the controversy regarding displacing his very good friend Yuvraj Singh from the team. He had to face many criticisms regarding that but for being a better team leader it was his duty to make the team better.
A true team player always does for the sake of the team. He is a team player as well. He used to get into batting when there was a need. He never tried to achieve the records and break the records. His only intention was to make India a better team. He believed in the natural ability of the team players.
The better manager:
When he gets success he never shows his excitement and when he loses than also there is no disappointment. Every time he guided his fellow players to play their natural game.
The date he announced of his retirement can easily be remembered. He has still potential to play, but he announced his retirement on an auspicious day.
