The Subject Matter Expert committee on Friday approved Serum Institute’s Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine ‘Covishield’ for emergency use in India with conditions. The Serum Institute of India had earlier said that more than 5 crore doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine have already been stockpiled and the shots could start to be transported from cold storage to all states as early as Saturday.
