Many left-wing politicians call that Indian society as a patriarchal and misogyny society and they call the ancient Sanathana Dharma as a religion of such misogyny and patriarchal. Is this true? Actually not. This is the biggest misconception, which has been propagated by many left ideological intellectuals.
What could be the best evidence which shows that the Sanathana Dharma or Hindu religion and India’s ancient culture is broader? Dussera is the best example. There are ten avatars of goddess Parvathi. She incarnated to kill the demon and establish peace and harmony. Actually, the killing of the demon looks like the killing off the male-dominant beast nature. What could be the best example of feminism than this?
Let’s see the 10 avatars of Goddess Parvathi, these 10 avatars are prayed on 10 days of Dussehra:
1.Shailaputri: In this avatar, goddess Jaganmatha appears as the daughter of Himavantha and she roams on the Ox (Nandi). She looks peaceful and she holds a trident (Trishul)
2.Tripura Sundari: Goddess Jaganmatha takes the avatar of Tripura Sundari. She looks like a young girl could be at the age of 8 or below. She is considered to be the goddess of many skills. Some people look at Tripura Sundari as a young girl and perform different rituals and respect the young girl.
3.Gayathri Devi: On the third day, people worship the goddess Gayathri Devi in Dussehra. Goddess Gayatri Devi is the mother of Vedas. When the sacred thread is worn by Hindus of different castes they pray Gayatri Devi. She has 5 faces of 10 hands. She holds Conch(Shank), wheel, Gadha (blunt mace), and ankusam (a sharp weapon)
4.Annapurna Devi: Annapurna Devi is the provider of food to the world. She holds a ladle in one hand and serves food to the world.
5.Lalitha Devi: The fifth incarnation is Lalitha Devi. She is worshipped by many Shaktheyas. She sits in Sri Chakra.
6.Lakshmi Devi: The sixth avatar is Lakshmi Devi. The goddess of prosperity and wealth. She blesses the devotees with prosperity.
7.Saraswathi Devi: Goddess Saraswathi is worshipped on this day. Goddess Saraswathi takes swan as her vehicle. She is the goddess of knowledge. She sits on the white lotus and blesses the world with knowledge.
8.Goddess Durga: On the eighth day, the goddess Durga is worshipped by the devotees. She sits on a tiger and holds weapons like sword, wheel, trident, gadha (Blunt mace), bow and arrow, Lotus, and conch in her seven hands, and with one hand she blesses the world.
9.Mahishasura Mardini: On a ninth day she appears as Mahishasura Mardini. On this day, she kills the demon Mahishasur, who tortures the world with his demonic and beast-like dominating powers.
10.Raja Rajeswari Devi: On the tenth day, people worship Goddess Raja Rajeswari. Raja Rajeswari is the ruler of the world.
A few so-called intellectuals used abusive words on Goddesses on the name of baseless and debunked Aryan Dravidian theory. Believing the goddess or not believing is a personal choice but insulting and disrespecting the other religions is not at all accepted. However, a few anti-social elements who have been flaunting themselves as intellectuals have been spreading this kind of false and unbearable stories on the majority people’s religion selectively and their major idea is to divide the society into fragments and to provoke the majority religious people.
Is this free speech?
This can’t be called free speech. If anyone spreads this kind of selective, insulting, and provocative speech, those should be put behind the bars. The court should take proper action on those people.
