India is a place, which accommodates 12% of world smokers. There is no doubt that smoking is dangerous. In India alone, 10 million people die each year due to smoking.
This habit is seen in the youngster and the people who work in stressful work environments like marketing, sales and IT etc.
This habit may become more addictive. There are a few habits that are more dangerous than smoking and we ignore and they have the potential of causing more harm than smoking.
1. Poor diet:
Eating habits are very important nowadays, as we can find the processed food and we tend to eat them. This is called junk food, which is rich in salt and sugar. This may lead to High Blood Pressure, Diabetes and much more difficulty, like obesity, etc. There are increased cases of obesity in urban areas.
The cause of depression is loneliness. Its impact can be on the brain. There is a connection between developing diseases and loneliness. The depression kind of psychological problem occurs due to being alone.
3. Sleep deprivation:
Another problem is sleep deprivation which is a common problem in working people who take IT and BPO works and with the mobile games like Pub G etc., This can be seen in the young generation more. Almost 33% of adults in the country suffer from insomnia and the bigger problem is that they find it normal.
4. Pessimistic attitude:
This attitude leads to negative thinking that, something whichever is planned may not be successful. This thinking may ruin us. This lead to unwanted depression and stress. The increasing suicides have majorly the same cause.
5. Sitting longer hours:
Sitting longer hours in a place may lead to obesity and this becomes an inactive life. Sitting longer hours in a place may increase colon cancer by 8%, as per the research by The University of Regensburg in Germany
These habits are harmful than smoking and a few of them are unavoidable like sitting on the chair for long hours.
The solution is to have a proper diet and the right social communication. Doing yoga and being positive are the ways to have a happy life.
