The Covid has been affected the aged people in the first wave and the second wave that affected the youngsters and the people above 40 years are highly effective. And now even the government has announced that the children may get affected by the Covid 19 in the third wave. In the second wave of Covid 19, we can see higher cases in children compared with the first wave of Covid.

What should a parent do to protect their kids?
Educate child to use the sanitizer and to be careful with that
Educate how to use the masks and how to wear it
Clean the toys of children now and then
Clean the floor and commonly touched objects at least once a day at home.

Don’t allow your child to come in close contact with anyone who has a cold, fever, or flu-like symptoms?
Try to engage your child in indoor activities. Avoid outdoor activities as much as possible but one can allow activities in the house premises provided the number of children is not more than 4 to 5.

Children with fever, cough and running nose should not be allowed to meet others especially the elderly/grandparents.

Don’t take children to crowded places and  keep them indoors as much as possible

Don’t forget to give a nutritious diet with plenty of water. Give citrus fruits (orange, lemon, grapefruit) and vegetables that are rich in vitamin C, vitamin D containing foods (cheese, egg yolks) and zinc-containing foods (legumes, lentils, beans, and nuts).

Seek medical care early if the child has symptoms of Covid like, fever, cold flu etc.

Allow them to express their doubts and don’t restrict them. Be patient in listening to them.

Have close monitoring of children and their activities. If the schools are opened, try to be in touch with the teachers and school management.

Educate your kid not to touch the walls and railings in the schools and tell them not to unmask

Bring awareness to children about maintaining the distance

The surfaces of Phones and Tablets may also contain the Covid virus, so, clean the screen of phones and tablets

Give immunity boosters to kids like “Chyavan Prash” or any Ayurvedic and Sidha medicines as supplements which will not lead to side effects.

If possible, try to make your kid attend the online classes for some more days

Educate the children to wash their hands for 20 seconds and use sanitisers after sneezing and coughing

Educate the children to cover their mouth while sneezing or coughing with the elbow as this is the place, we seldom touch. Every day let the clothes be cleaned. Clean the floor every day.

Make the children maintain cleanliness to avoid fungus infections as well.
