A farmer works hard to earn a basic amount to live. He lives simple and tries to make money for their hard work but fails as the middle man exploits. Most of the poor and middle-class farmers have their problems with money.
Estimated earning of a farmer?
As per data, the average earning of a farmer is Rs 6400 and many farmers committed suicide due to indebt. Many incidents are there in South and North India.
Different studies suggest that as many 52 out of 100 farmers in India have an average loan amount of Rs 1,40,000. Other reports said that as many as 10,000 farmers died by suicide in 2019. Around 76 per cent of farmers want to quit their occupation, while only 1 per cent of the young people in villages want to take up farming.
Many quit farming due to no profit but, the customer also pays more amounts. The middle man earns more. Market yards, do more favour to middlemen.
Is Rakesh Tikayat also as poor as a farmer?
The farmer leader Rakesh Tijayat. Is he as poor as a farmer? Maybe not!! Here are a few calculations about him!
As per reports, his asserts value is 80 Crore rupees. His assets are in 13 cities of the country, including Muzaffarnagar, Lalitpur, Jhansi, Lakhimpur Kheri, Bijnor, Badaun, Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Dehradun, Roorkee, Haridwar, and Mumbai. So Tikayat’s asserts are in four states, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Maharashtra. He has varied business interests in different areas like land, petrol pumps, showrooms, brick kilns. etc.
He was once a police constable and now a businessman with 80 crore asserts!! He was married to Sunita Devi in 1985 and he has three children: a son named Charan Singh and two daughters, Seema Tikait and Jyoti Tikait.
His younger daughter, Jyothi Tikait lives in Australia and led a rally in Melbourne against the new farm bills on the 8th of February.
Some media people also say that, he kept a deer in his home, which is a punishable offence and it may attract the fine as well.
