If one can’t take the criticism how can one grow? If it happens with politicians, those politicians should overcome the criticism, by proving their sincerity and honesty. From a few days the political criticism has been continuously occurring against the Central government, and a few state governments. And the acts of a few state governments have been proving to be Political Vendetta!
Political vendetta on a few people:
The increased political vendetta can be seen clearly. There are a few reasons for that.
1. To safeguard their pride and authority
2. To frighten the people, whoever makes comments over the governments
3. To hide the conspiracies and safeguard the culprits
These could be the reasons for the political revengeful acts against the common people.
1. To safeguard the politicians’ pride and authority:
A few sycophants in the government authorities, may praise their political leaders and try to safeguard their pride and authority. In recent times we can see the government authorities which work swiftly on the people who criticize the government. The best example is the Kangana Ranaut incident. Her film house was demolished by the BMC authorities. Though they have been getting many complaints against many illegal constructions and thousands are still pending, they did not go according to the line of complaints and they did not give enough notice as well. They have given only one day’s notice when the actress was away from the state. Even the court has questioned them on this, and BMC said that they had been doing the work according to their book of rules. However, the public has been observing this and condemning this.
2. To frighten the people:
A few state governments have been frightening the people whoever questions the government works. This has been there from the ward member to senior MP, MLA, and ministers. There are a number of examples for this, minimum to take the advantage from the government, a few sycophants, have been filing the complaints like the recent complaints against an aged lady called Ranganayakamma, in Andhra Pradesh. She forwarded a message / posting on Facebook and a case was filed against her. The opposition strongly condemned the act and the people also have been commenting on this against the government.
3. To hide conspiracies and safeguarding the conspirators:
The politicians protecting the conspirators are not new to Indians. To safeguard them, common people or critics have been targeted by government agencies and politicians. The emergency in the time of Indira Gandhi was the best example of it. Many were arrested who raised their voice against the then emergency government. In the recent Kangana Ranaut’s comments against the Maharashtra government and the Maratha police, made them furious and the Shiv Sena made derogatory comments against her and targeted her by gathering the Shiv Sena political workers near the Mumbai airport. There are questions from the common public if the government and the police agency have been hiding the real conspirators.
If the common public and the critics are frightened like this, will there be the democratic values in our country? Questioning itself has been making them impatient and intolerant, is a bigger concern. The politicians should understand that this is not the ruling of Kings and Queens and monarchy. The courts have the power to direct the authorities, with that authority, if they question, the undemocratic powers will not make much impact on their personal gains.
